About Lucy J. Barr, MD
Dr. Lucy Barr is the first board certified female facial plastic surgeon in Utah. She is a specialist in cosmetic surgery of the face and neck and hair. Dr. Barr received her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University where she subsequently completed her surgical internship. She then pursued her specialty interest and completed her four-year surgical residency at the University of Utah in the field of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the only surgical subspecialty dedicated exclusively to the head and neck. She is board certified in this specialty. Following completion of her formal surgical training, Dr. Barr sought additional education in the field of facial aesthetic surgery. She was accepted to and completed a prestigious fellowship program certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During this year, Dr. Barr had the privilege of fine-tuning her knowledge and skills in facial rejuvenation with a master in the field and past president of the world’s largest specialty association in facial plastic surgery. Following her formal fellowship, The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery evaluated her training, research, written operative experience and techniques as well as her knowledge and skills with both written and oral exams. The board has deemed that Dr. Barr has professional expertise in the specialty field of facial plastic surgery and has awarded her board certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Barr has traveled across the world to be involved in humanitarian organizations.
