About Lisa G. Pruett, MD
Dr. Lisa Guidry Pruett is originally from south Louisiana. At an early age, she decided that she wanted to be a physician because of her love for science and learning. She spent summers working in her father’s Internal Medicine practice in Covington, Louisiana and watched her mother attend medical school while she was in high school. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1999 where she was the recipient of the Septima Cecilia Smith Award given to the most outstanding graduating Biology major. She then entered Louisiana State University School of Medicine where her husband, mother, father, brother and sister all graduated with MD degrees. She was inducted into LSU’s chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, the only medical honor society, as a Junior with only 6 other Junior medical students. She consistently scored in the 99th percentile nationally during medical licensure and dermatology inservice exams. Her interest in dermatology began during clinical rotations as a medical student when she was exposed to a variety of skin disorders in her pediatric, medical, surgical and obstetric rotations. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at LSU Charity Hospital and her dermatology residency at LSU in Shreveport and New Orleans. She started a dermatology clinic in the Northshore location of Ochsner Health System and was the sole dermatologist there for 3 years. She moved to Dallas in 2009 when she married her husband, Jon, who she practices with at Trinity Dermatology. When she is not practicing dermatology, she is happily busy raising two sons and two daughters. Dr. Pruett enjoys all facets of dermatology, including medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
