About Lewis S. Libby, DDS
Growing up as a son and grandson of a dentist, I was always fascinated with science and technology. In dentistry I have the opportunity to use science and technology to improve the dental health of our patients. I also enjoy people and comprehensive dentistry allows me to care for patients of all ages from small children to the elderly. And, I enjoy cosmetic dentistry because I love to work with patients to give them the smile they desire. In addition to practicing as a dentist in the Baltimore area for many years I have had the privilege of serving our nation in the United States Navy for over 30 years. I served around the world at nearly every level of leadership including senior dental officer of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Deputy Medical Officer of the Marine Corps. One of my greatest satisfactions was the opportunity to lead, plan and execute humanitarian dental and medical exercises in rural Alaska and around the world in some of the poorest areas on the planet. I am fortunate to be in the profession I love, dentistry has been part of our family for three generations and I am constantly reminded of the relationship of dental health and wellness and the satisfaction of a beautiful smile! I grew up in Baltimore and married my childhood sweetheart. Sarah and I have been blessed with 2 wonderful children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. I have the privilege to travel twice yearly to Haiti to provide volunteer dental care and treatment for the children of a grade school, Bon Samaritain, in the city of San Marc, the gratitude of the people brings me great satisfaction. In addition I am active in the Maryland Donated Dental Service that provides dental care to the handicapped and disadvantaged.
