About Lawrence M. Hoffman, DMD
Dr. Lawrence Hoffman was born and raised in St. Louis and is a lifelong resident of the area. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Indiana University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1976. Upon graduation from dental school, he entered a hospital-based residency in general dentistry at The Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center, completing his training in 1978. This program comprised all aspects of dental care, and included rotations in internal medicine and anesthesia. He continues to hold a staff appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology at Washington University School of Medicine and treats special needs pediatric patients at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Following completion of his hospital residency, he became Dental Clinic Chief at Jewish Hospital, a position he held until 1986. Concurrent with his hospital clinic duties, he established a private practice in central St. Louis County – celebrating his 35th year of service in 2013. Dr. Hoffman is a member of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, Missouri Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He has also been a consultant to the dental benefits industry since 1983, currently serving as dental consultant to Delta Dental Plan of Missouri and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He is a member of the American Association of Dental Consultants (AADC) and has held numerous elected positions within the organization including President (2001-2002), member of the Board of Directors, and Secretary-Treasurer (2006-present). The Hoffmans have resided in Chesterfield since 1980, where he raised three children with his wife, Phyllis, who serves as office manager for his practice.
