About Lauren M. Patrick, MD
Dr. Patrick is a board certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery known throughout the community for her thoughtful care of her patients, her exceptional surgical skill, and her unwavering commitment to doing whatever she can to provide the best possible clinical results. Her focus is always a conversation – directed by her patients’ desires and priorities and informed by Dr. Patrick’s world-class training and deep clinical experience and expertise. “The right decision for each patient is a very personal one. My role is to help guide my patients through this decision process, and when surgery is the right next step, to deliver outstanding results.” Dr. Patrick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and spent her childhood in Hockessin, Delaware. She was a competitive figure skater competing at the U.S. National Championships three times. “The technical precision and focus needed on the ice help me every day in the operating room. Perhaps more importantly, there is an art and beauty to it all that, when done correctly, can be truly elegant.” These same characteristics are the hallmark of Dr. Patrick’s surgical practice. Dr. Patrick completed her undergraduate studies as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. She continued on at Penn’s prestigious Perelman School of Medicine, and then accepted a residency at the highly competitive integrated plastic surgical training program at Georgetown University Hospital. She trained for 6 years in the cosmetic and reconstructive fields of plastic surgery. Her mentors include some of the most famous plastic surgeons in the world. As a trainee she was recognized as a technically gifted surgeon including receiving the award for the “Most Outstanding Microsurgical Resident”. Following her training in 2014, Dr. Patrick was recruited to the faculty at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, D.C. This position has enabled her to care for a group of men and women whom she deeply admires. In particular, she has brought microsurgical expertise to the treatment of veterans’ injuries and post cancer reconstructive needs. She trains and mentors Georgetown Plastic Surgical Chief residents and regularly lectures at Georgetown University School of Medicine, earning her the position Assistant Professor of Clinical Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University. In her private, cosmetic practice at West End Plastic Surgery, Dr. Patrick has a particular interest in face and body rejuvenation. She employs the latest techniques in cosmetic eyelid surgery, facelifts, cosmetic fat transfer, prominent ear surgery, surgery for enlarged male breasts, and body contouring after significant weight loss. Dr. Patrick has great experience with breast reshaping using lift techniques, augmentation, and reduction surgery. “I enjoy helping women feel better about their appearance after childbearing, whether that involves a total ‘mommy make-over’ or just some Botox or filler to feel more refreshed.” Dr. Patrick lives with her husband and three children in Chevy Chase, M.D. She loves spending time hiking and biking on area trails with her family, reading, and watching her kids grow up. She enjoys evenings at home with a house full of friends and family and the occasional date night downtown with her husband!
