About Larry H. Hollier, MD
Dr. Larry H. Hollier, Jr. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including cleft surgery, craniofacial surgery, and pediatric hand surgery. Since 1996, Dr. Hollier has participated in numerous surgical capacity building trips to Haiti, Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia for treatment of craniofacial and hand deformities. Dr. Hollier serves on the board of the Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) whose efforts are focused on reducing health disparities in the local community and worldwide. Dr. Hollier currently serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for Smile Train, an international children’s charity that provides training, funding, and resources to empower local doctors in 85+ developing countries to deliver cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities. Dr. Hollier has authored more than 200 articles for scholarly and professional publications, written 37 book chapters, and made dozens of presentations to professional audiences worldwide on a full range of topics related to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hollier is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). His professional memberships also include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Cleft Palate Association, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery. In 2016, Dr. Hollier was named the Press Ganey Physician of the Year for his leadership in improving the Patient Experience at Texas Children’s Hospital.
