About Kim Carlson-Sweet, MD
After completing my scholarship payback in the Air Force and residency training in Dermatology, our love of California brought us to Sonoma County. The specialty of Dermatology has provided a wide variety of practice opportunities and practice location options. I chose to practice with The Permanente Medical Group at Kaiser Santa Rosa because of the superior quality of the physicians, the staff, and the facility. Our members have now been added to my list of reasons. I have a fulfilling career with the top professionals in general as well as specialty medical practice. Working as a team to keep the people of Sonoma County healthy is our daily endeavor. Dermatology is a good fit for me. I enjoy the combination of clinic and surgery that dermatology provides. Unfortunately, skin cancer is very prevalent, but I find it rewarding to be on the front line of detection, treatment, and prevention. Skin cancer surgery is a special interest of mine. Kaiser Santa Rosa also provides me the opportunity to practice Cosmetic Dermatology, another interest of mine. One's self-esteem is often related to the health of their skin and I enjoy educating people on how to have the healthiest skin possible.
