About Julia A. Pfaff, DO
Dr. Pfaff’s career in healthcare began with a Master’s in Public Health, focusing on program development and highlighting community health disparities to promote improved access to healthcare resources. Her work in Public Health was both rewarding and fulfilling, and it allowed her to influence the health of entire communities. What she found missing, however, was a more personal relationship with the people she was helping. This prompted her to continue the next phase of her healthcare career as a physician. Dr. Pfaff was drawn to Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery when she was diagnosed with a thyroid mass in her first year of medical school. Two years later, she was taken to the operating room for thyroid surgery. This experience was undoubtedly one of the strongest influences on her medical career and continues to shape her practice today. Dr. Pfaff has a profound passion and appreciation for head and neck surgery – particularly minimally invasive thyroid surgery – and her experience as patient allows her to personally relate to her patients. In addition to minimally invasive thyroid surgery, she is incredibly excited to offer her patients the latest in image-guided and minimally invasive techniques in all areas of otolaryngology including sinus and skull-base surgery, salivary gland surgery, head and neck cancer treatment, vocal cord disorders, and care of the professional voice.
