About Joseph Wareham, DMD
Dr Wareham, a Maryland native, was raised in Indian Head, Maryland. He attended Salisbury University, from 2001-2003, where he earned a bachelors degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. Although he graduated Salisbury University with the highest honors, Suma Cum Laude, he has always been open and honest about his less than best efforts put forth during his time in high school. Dr. Wareham commonly jokes, “Don't ask about my high school GPA.” Dr. Wareham attended Nova Southeastern Dental School in Davie, Florida. The decision to move to Florida was easy considering that he despises cold weather. Dr Wareham enjoys being able to visit theme parks with his family all year long to ride all of the biggest roller coasters. Dr. Wareham has been married to his wife Emily since 2004. They met in undergrad at Salisbury University, and both attended Nova Southeastern University. While Dr. Wareham earned his dental medical degree, Emily earned a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. They have two daughters, Olive age 10 and Pearl age 8. For the past three years Emily has worked at Cherry Blossom Family Dentistry with Dr. Wareham, and gets fired approximately 3-4 times a month. They are frequently asked about how it is working together. They both feel it is well balanced and there is a sense of comfort working with your spouse when working to achieve the same goals. Dr. Wareham would like to share stories about how he travels, golfs, and sails the seas but with two small children you will find him standing in long lines at theme parks, riding his bike around the neighborhood, and helping his children manage Wifi to continue playing Roblox and Minecraft. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and enjoys cooking for all of them. He is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Lightening, but also has a fondness for the Washington Capitals. Dr Wareham is commonly asked what made him want to become a dentist. After taking some time off after high school and finding himself working at a water distributing company carrying five gallon jugs of water all day, he came the conclusion he could do more with his life. At first, he thought he would go back to school to become a physical education teacher, but was encouraged by the guidance counselor at Salisbury University to consider the medical field at the recommendation of some of his professors. Dr. Wareham's response at that point was, “Which doctors don't work on evenings and weekends?”
