About Joseph Bernstein

Dr. Joseph Bernstein has practiced Cosmetic Surgery for over 33 years. A mid-west native, he received his M.D. & Ph.D. degree from the University Of Kansas Medical School. He did his General, Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery training at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Bernstein then joined a team of volunteer physicians performing reconstructive Plastic Surgery for natives of the Southern Philippines. Upon his return, Dr. Bernstein joined the staff at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center, where he served as an assistant clinical professor of Plastic Surgery and Chief of the division of Plastic Surgery at Long Beach Veterans Hospital where he taught Plastic Surgery to students & Residents. Dr. Bernstein is a certified Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has won several awards during his career including the National Honor Society, the Kaw Valley Heart Research Award and the Walter S. Sutton Award for medical research. Dr. Bernstein has done all kinds of Cosmetic, Plastic & Reconstructive surgeries. He has developed new techniques for Face, Breast & Body Surgery.
