Questions and Answers
Often women feel like there is a bulging appearance and she may complain that she feels that it is not feminine appearing and unattractive. They often feel uncomfortable especially in a swim suit as they have a protrusion in their lower abdomen. This is often made more prominent in patients who have a C – section scar as the fat accumulates and is accentuated below the scar. Mons pubis liposuction (Monsplasty) removes the fatty deposits and makes the area flat, often patients (if they so decide) will have their surgeon transfer the fat in to the labia majora to perform a labia majora augmentation. Often to achieve the very best cosmetic vaginal surgery many patients require multiple cosmetic surgical techniques technique Including vaginal rejuvenation (vagoplasty), labiaplasty and Mons pubis liposuction (Monsplasty).
Hymen restoration (hymenoplasty) can be performed for torn hymen in patients who would like to restore their hymen. The hymen can tear early in life due to reasons other than intercourse including heavy lifting, riding a bicycle or falling and traumatizing the vulva and vaginal opening. This involves the reconstruction of the hymen to restore it to a virginal state. This cosmetic vaginal surgery it is often performed for cultural, religious or social reasons. This procedure can be performed in an office setting to assure privacy and anonymity.
The vulva, or outside of the vagina, is made up of two folds of the skin. The labia minora and majora. The labia minora are the inner folds of skin that are attached to and contiguous to the clitoral hood. The labia majora are the outer folds or protrusions of skin and fat underneath this skin that extend from the mons pubis region and extend down to and merge with the perineum just under the opening of the vagina. When this area is enlarged and protrude or hang down more than a woman may desire it is called Labia Majora Hypertrophy (enlargement of the labia majora). This condition may affect a woman at any age and can cause bulging in tight fitting clothes such as bathing suits or yoga pants. Some women also call this a “camel toe” appearance. If there is an abundance of excess sagging skin in the area it can also cause discomfort with certain activities such as exercise or sexual intercourse.
ThermiVa is an in office, nonsurgical, pain-free procedure for vaginal laxity, decreased sexual sensation and labia majora rejuvenation. ThermiVa treatments use radiofrequency energy to gently heat the internal (vaginal) and external (vulvar) tissue to restore, revive and rejuvenate feminine wellness. Three 30-minute in-office treatment sessions will help to restore vaginal / vulvar tone and function enhancing friction and sensation during intercourse. Peri / Post-menopausal women may also have improved vaginal lubrication and increased clitoral sensitivity following treatment. ThermiVa is very similar to other non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment options such as the Mona-Lisa Touch, or the FemiLift, however Dr. Miklos and Moore feel ThermiVa is the safest and gives the best non-surgical results compared to other non-surgical treatment options.
