About John D. Hatcher, DDS
Dr. Hatcher graduated from the University of Houston in 1981 with a B.S. in Biology and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch-Houston in 1985. After attending the U.S. Army’s 1 year Advanced Educational Program in General Dentistry at Ft. Bragg, N.C. he spent the next 3 years in Bad Kissingen Germany (Bavaria Area) until his return to private practice in 1990. He has been practicing in Pasadena Tx since 1990 and today is one of the two dentists chosen by NASA to treat active astronauts. Dr. Hatcher has trained with some of the leading dentist’s and top experts in the field of esthetic dentistry, occlusion, and implant restoration to include the Pankey Institute in Key Biscane FL, The Dawson Academy in St. Petersberg FL, and the Speer Education Center in Scottsdale AZ. He maintains an extensive program of advanced study. The past year alone he has taken over 60 hours of such courses. (By comparison dentists in Texas are only required to have 12 hours per year.) Dr Hatcher is a member of the American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. He and his wife have two children in college. In his spare time he enjoys photography, videography, woodworking, reading, and spending time with family and friends around the back yard fire pit.
