About Gloria E. Ward, DDS
Dr. Gloria Ward earned her first D.D.S in her home country of Colombia, South America from CES University and received a Master of Science in Periodontal Prosthesis. She moved to Virginia in 1999 and obtained a Master of Science in Dental Materials and later on earned her second D.D.S. degree - Magna Cum Laude - at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003. In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Ward is certified in Oral Conscious Sedation from VCU School of Dentistry and speaks Spanish fluently. She also has a special interest in Sleep Apnea and works with multiple Sleep Specialists in the area. Dr. Ward has had a part time faculty appointment at VCU since 1999 (full time member from 2003 to 2006). Among other activities, she is Board member of the Richmond Dental Society, holds membership in the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, American Dental Education Association, American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. She belongs to multiple study clubs in town and participates on several mission projects with the Virginia Dental Association and VCU School of Dentistry. Most recently she became a member of the Board of Advisors for the General Practice Department at the VCU School of Dentistry, a delegate for the Virginia Dental Association and Secretary of the Richmond Dental Society. Dr. Ward has been selected multiple times by her peers and awarded “Top Doc” in Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine.
