About Ginger M. Pollack, DMD
When I meet you, remember this introduction; it’s likely you’ll be looking up at me in this manner when I see you. I know that a dental office is not a place that most patients enjoy visiting. Our goal is to provide you with superior care while we spend our time getting to know your needs, from your perspective. One of my favorite aspects about practicing dentistry is getting to know my patients. A core value of my practice is creating a comfortable environment for the people we have the privilege to serve. I would like you to know that my team and I are committed to being your partner in creating a smile that lasts a lifetime—from the inside and out. My background in dentistry is varied. I wanted to take some time to share my curriculum vitae with you: I graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. I am a third generation dentist; my father, Mark S. Pollack DDS, is an Orthodontist in Windham County and Hartford County; and his father was a dentist, as well. I have extensive continuing education in Forensic Dentistry, including course work with Dr. Henry Lee. I am an Appointed Team Leader for the Connecticut State Disaster Identification Response Team, and have held that position since the organization’s inception in 2004. I am a member of the American Society of Forensic Odontology, the Connecticut chapter of the Seattle Study Club, American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and my local dental society. I am on the American Dental Association’s Council of Scientific Affairs as a Clinical Evaluator of Dental Products and Materials for the profession. I am trained in anxiety management and certified through DentalFear.com. Since 2007, my practice has been a training site for Port and Chester Institute’s dental assisting program students, where they spend a 5 week externship working in clinical dentistry. Also, since 2007 I have taken an active role in the public health sector of dentistry by testifying before our state's legislature to increase access to care for Medicaid patients and the underserved. I was on Congressman John Larson's fund raising steering committee for his 2008 re-election campaign. In 2008 I received certification for the placement of mini dental implants. In 2009, I was accepted as one of 200 clinical practice investigative researchers in the PEARL Network, funded through a National Institute of Health grant for the advancement of clinical dentistry and the influence of clinical dentistry practice worldwide through our research outcomes. In 2010, I was accepted as one of 100 dentists to participate in the third American Dental Association conference to become an Evidence Based Dentistry Champion. With dentistry changing so rapidly, I am committed to keeping up to date with all new technologies and procedures. I am a member of the SeattleStudyClub.com and I continually attend educational programs to deliver the highest level of care to my patients. Beyond being a doctor, I was married in 2008. I grew up in the West Hartford and Farmington, CT area. I have 2 younger brothers, 3 step-brothers, and a sister. I'm the oldest of 7. My eldest younger brother is chiropractic physician and one of my step-brothers is a medical doctor. Ask me about my family when you come to visit. I love to share personal stories.
