About Fred M. Novice, MD
Dr. Novice aims to make a difference in the lives of his patients by providing the highest quality care in a comfortable environment. He is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Boards of Pathology and Dermatology. He is also board certified in dermatology in Canada and a fellow of the Royal College of physicians and surgeons of Canada. A native Canadian originally from Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Novice completed his medical degree and internship at the University of Toronto and a fellowship in clinical dermatology and dermatopathology at McMaster University Medical Center in Hamilton Ontario. Dr. Novice completed his 3 year dermatology residency at Henry Ford hospital in Detroit, MI where he was selected chief resident. He furthered his study with a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Novice published his textbook, the “Handbook of Genetic Skin Disorders” (WB Saunders 1994) as well as many articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Novice has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and is one of the most experienced injectors in the world with over 20 years of experience with Botox® and filler injections. He has trained many colleagues in the most advanced injection techniques. Additionally, as a board certified dermatopathologist he has a tremendous amount of expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Novice has been selected Metro Detroit’s Best Dermatologist in Styleline Magazine for 10 years running.
