About Elias M. Rivera, DDS
Dr. Elias M Rivera is a Board Certified Prosthodontist with 24 years of experience in Dentistry, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Stomatology and Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Cayetano Heredia University– School of Dentistry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and obtained the “Grünenthal award in Dentistry” for his thesis research in Temporomandibular Joint function. He obtained his title of specialist in Oral Rehabilitation and Prosthodontics in 1999 and then worked as a faculty member and private practice for several years prior moving to Florida. Dr. Rivera completed one-year postdoctoral education in Advanced General Dentistry Program at Dade County Dental Research Clinic in Miami, Florida. Dr. Rivera enrolled in additional three-years in prosthodontic specialty training and obtained both Certificate in Prosthodontic s and Master’s in Oral Biology from University of Maryland School of Dentistry. In addition to his specialty training in different types of complex implant restorations during the prosthodontic residency, Dr. Rivera also completed a one-year advance surgical training in implant dentistry and received his Certificate in Dental Implants and Esthetics from Louisiana State University, School of Dentistry, New Orleans. Dr. Rivera is currently Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Maryland School of Dentistry, serves as Program Director for Implant Periodontal Prosthodontics postdoctoral program and Prosthodontics predoctoral program, he also maintains an intramural private practice limited to treat very complex Oral Reconstructions, Dental Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a Fellow of American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) and an active member of Academy of Osseointegration (AO), American Dental Association (ADA) and International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Rivera is past president of the Maryland section of the American College of Prosthodontists and actively attends and presents at conferences in prosthodontics and implant dentistry worldwide.
