About David M. Kupfer, MD
After finishing undergraduate education at University of California, San Diego graduating as Summa Cum Laude and receiving California’s Regent Scholar Award, Dr. Kupfer went to one of the nations most prestigious medical schools, University of California, San Francisco. He then spent an additional 11 years of medical and surgical training before entering practice in San Diego in 1991. The depth of his medical training allowed him to become triple board-certified in Plastic Surgery, Hand and Microsurgery, and in General Surgery. He is a Fellow member of The American College of Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and multiple other medical Societies. Since entering practice almost 3 decades ago, Dr. Kupfer has served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Sharp Hospital San Diego, served as Medical Director to multiple outpatient ambulatory surgical centers in San Diego County and has authored and published numerous research articles. He has given multiple scientific presentations in both hand and microsurgery as well as cosmetic surgery.
