About David P. De Rosier, DDS
Dr. De Rosier earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 1983. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987, and remains at the forefront of dental technology through extensive continuing education. Dr. De Rosier has been practicing in Point Loma since 1991, and is an active member of the Point Loma Rotary Club, Point Loma Summer Concerts and the Peninsula Breakfast Club. He lives in Point Loma and enjoys cycling, vintage cars and sailing. He’s been married for over 30 years to his wife, Kerri, and is very proud of his daughter, Sarah, who is an automotive engineer. I love practicing dentistry. And I think it shows in my approach to my work, in my endless quest for more knowledge about the best dental care — and in my approach to my patients. In my office, we practice “one size fits one,” a philosophy that honors patient’s individual needs and values. Values? What do values have to do with dentistry? Every patient comes to the dentist wanting different things: we work with you to make sure that we respect your individual preferences. We are partners — not — drivers in our goal to make sure that your teeth can last a lifetime. Dentistry isn’t only about treating teeth — it’s about treating the whole person. That’s why I begin every new relationship with a thorough exam. During the exam, we use the latest in x-ray technology to examine the teeth and bones, only taking what is absolutely necessary. Why? Because I take films according to what is appropriate for you, not what your insurance will pay for. After the examination, we discuss the findings and develop a plan together. We look for early signs of problems so we can address them before they become bigger problems — and a bigger expense for you. I am admittedly a continuing education junkie. Through my memberships in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Diego County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the L.D. Pankey Study Club of Southern California, I have ample opportunities to learn about the latest advances in dental care: I also serve as a member of the Ethics Committee for the County Dental Society, and am an alumnus of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, a rigorous program that emphasizes full-mouth reconstruction, TMJ therapy, and advanced cosmetic techniques.
