About Cynthia A. Skiba, DDS
I have been practicing dentistry in Midland, MI since 1998. To me, being a dentist means that I have a great opportunity to make a difference. I am in the field of helping people feel and live better, both physically and mentally. Dentistry has effects well beyond the teeth and jaw line. It can help patients feel more confident and oral health is connected to other parts of the body as well. It is my honor to affect people in a way that really matters. I take this responsibility seriously. I attended Michigan State University for my undergraduate degree. I then attended Kellogg Community College to study dental hygiene. I practiced dental hygiene for 17 years before returning to school for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, graduating from the University of Michigan Dental School. I enjoy the chance to work with people from many different backgrounds and places. I find each of my patient’s stories to be fascinating and unique. They enrich my life on a daily basis. I also appreciate the many different needs that patients bring to the office. I find myself constantly challenged and learning in order to offer the best quality of oral care possible. To best serve my patients, I have trained in all disciplines of dentistry. I attend continuing education classes and seminars on a regular basis. This is a great benefit to the quality and efficiency of treatments I can offer. I value being up-to-date on the newest developments in technology and techniques in dentistry. I also love learning new ways to provide incredible oral care. I am a native of Alpena, MI. I have lived in the Midland area since 1999 where I live with my husband and several dogs and cats. The dogs and cats are like children to us. I actively train, show, and judge for dog shows. I also enjoy gardening. I feel very blessed by my community. Being involved with projects and groups is a great way to give back, and it is good for the soul. I am currently involved in Donated Dental Services and I volunteer for Helping Hands Dental Clinic. They both allow me to use my profession in service of the community, which I love.
