Questions and Answers
You typically see results with Botox within a week and Dysport has a slightly quicker onset, with its effects fully taking hold in two to five days. Botox and Dysport results typically last three to four months but results vary from person-to-person. The effects of Xeomin are usually seen within five days. It will take up to 10 days to see the final results from the treatment. Xeomin treatment lasts anywhere from three to six months.
Unlike Botox, which yields results that last for up to six months in as few as four days, Kybella results are noticeable at four to six weeks and last for years, which means that touch-ups shouldn’t be needed. As for side effects, swelling and bruising may occur but usually fade within three days of treatment. It is also possible the treatment site may feel numb for up to three weeks. Right now, only select doctors in New York are approved to administer Kybella to treat double chins. Not because it’s dangerous, but because it takes a trained eye and skilled hand to administer the injectable and pick the right patient. The best candidate is someone with good skin quality and a very distinct appearance of fat under the chin.
Each treatment takes about an hour. As the fat cells are exposed to cooling, a process of natural cell removal occurs. The fat cells in the treated area are gradually eliminated through the body’s normal metabolic processes, similar to how fat from food is eliminated. The result is a reduction in fat bulges that is visible in most patients in about two to four months.
Skin resurfacing is safe for all skin types and causes only minor discomfort during treatment. A topical anesthetic can be used to help minimize the discomfort, which is often described as a feeling of increased heat. One session usually takes about 15-30 minutes, but procedure time will vary depending on the size of the area being treated. To protect your eyes, a special shield will be placed over them. You can relax during your treatment as your specialist moves the laser over your face. This is a non-invasive treatment with minimal downtime involved. Most of our patients benefit from 4 to 6 treatments, at 3-4-week intervals.
Clear + Brilliant laser system has been nicknamed the “baby fraxel” since it utilizes the same technology as traditional Fraxel. Clear + Brilliant has two different hand pieces, the 1440nm and the 1927nm. The 1440nm handpiece is used for reducing pore size, improving fine lines and overall texture. The 1927nm handpiece is used for treating melasma, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. If you compare it to the Fraxel Restore, it is less painful and has less downtime while still achieving results. Approved by the FDA, the Clear + Brilliant Laser System is ideal for men and women who want to improve the look of their skin and get a head start on preventing the signs of aging from appearing. Your skin is refreshed from the inside out, replacing damaged skin with healthy, glowing skin. Clear + Brilliant can enhance all skin types and rejuvenate the deeper layers of skin.
