About Charles Galanis
Charles Galanis, M.D., is a reconstructive and plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, who is double board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery and in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Galanis completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin. He was the class president and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, a distinction only granted to the top 15% of medical school graduates. Upon completing medical school, Dr. Galanis completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. While completing his residency, he was also awarded Resident Teacher of the Year award as Chief Resident. After completing his general surgery training, Dr. Galanis pursued his interests and matched into UCLA’s highly competitive plastic and reconstructive surgery program. He then went through additional training throughout the Los Angeles area including private cosmetic practices in Beverly Hills, high volume county hospitals, and the UCLA Medical Center. The plastic surgery training program at UCLA is widely considered one of the finest training platforms in the country. Dr. Galanis stayed on for an additional year at UCLA as Microsurgery Fellow and Clinical Instructor. He performed complex reconstruction surgeries with a high focus on breast, head and neck surgery. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has had his research presented at medical conferences.
