About Bonnie P. Patel, DDS
Dr. Bonnie Patel received her dental degree from the University of Michigtan in 1994. She also received her Bachelor of Science (Biology) and Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) degrees from the University of Michigan. Dr. Patel's research interests include prosthetic joint infection risks in dental patients and Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD). Her dental and epidemiological research contributions have appeared in scientific journals and presentations at the International Association for Dental Research. While in dental school, she was awarded the Student Exchange Award by the International College of Dentists where she studied British dental trends at the University of Bristol Dental School in Bristol, England. Dr. Patel is experienced in all facets of general denistry including restoring implants, cosmetic procedures and treating families. She treats individuals with special needs as well as pediatric and geriatric patients. Her dental care is uniquely tailored for each patient. She performs comprehensive examinations and prides herself on her thorough approach to patients. In addition to extensive continuing education and research, Dr. Patel has enhanced her dental career by teaching, mentoring and speaking at seminars for future dentists and dental assistants. She is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the Washtenaw District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association and the Russell Bunting Periodontal Society. Having grown up in Ann Arbor, Dr. Patel is strongly committed to giving back to the community and participates in the Washtenaw Health Program for low income individuals needing dental care. Dr. Patel is married with a son and a daughter. She and her family are enthusiastic Michigan Wolverine fans. They enjoy attending Michigan football, basketball and hockey games as well as skiing, traveling and snorkeling.
