About Aniello Picone, DMD
Dr. Aniello (Nello) Picone is a life long resident of Southington, CT. Following his graduation from Southington High School, he went on to attend the University of Connecticut where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He then attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2012. Following graduation, he completed a year of advanced dental training at the Hartford Hospital General Practice Residency. While in dental school, Dr. Picone was the recipient of the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Student Award, the Academy of General Dentistry's Senior Student Dental Award, and the Olmstead Prize in Geriatrics. Upon completion of his dental residency, he was the recipient of the Dr. Dick D'Alessandro Award. Dr. Picone has volunteered at the Connecticut Mission of Mercy every year since it began. CTMOM is a volunteer program that provides free dental care to underserved members of the community that do not have access to care. In 2011, he participated in a five-day dental service trip with Dr. Joseph A. Picone, as well as other dental specialists and students, and provided oral health care to indigent children and adults in Tobati, Paraguay. Dr. Picone is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, Dental Society of Greater Southington, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is committed to continuing his education throughout his career. He currently resides in Southington with his wife, Lauren and their dogs, Bella and Beau.
