She did her early schooling in England before transferring to the University of Illinois for her undergraduate studies. After earning her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University's Dental School, she completed a General Practice Residency program at Southern Illinois University and the Veteran's Administration Hospital in St. Louis.
