Face Concerns addressed by Andrew Frankel, MD, FACS
This week I am celebrating my 46th birthday. Thanks to Dr. Frankel I truly feel like celebrating. Not only do I look better, but I actually feel younger as well. What an inspiring gift to be able to give. —Cynthia M.,Facelift
I want to say thank you for a job very well done! I’m so happy with how my surgery turned out. I feel younger and beautiful. What a wonderful gift you have - to make people feel better about themselves. —Anna D.,Deep Plane Facelift
Thank you for the beautiful work you did on me. The good you do for people is beyond description. You are truly an amazing surgeon. You are so gifted and talented and definitely chose the right profession. —Jeannie R.,Rhinoplasty
This is to report a wonderful side effect from my eyelid surgery, ie., the repositioning of the upper tear gland has had a significant positive impact on my tear flow which has radically improved my long-term pre-existing problem with dry eyes. It’s a miracle. Thank you so much. —Valeriya S.,Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty
Dr. Frankel has helped me with a dog bite scar on my nose that has literally disappeared with his expert surgical technique. He has also worked on the shape of my nose and my case has been challenging because of the scar tissue. He is brilliant, creative, warm, and has an eye for aesthetics. —Laura Joseph,Nose Shaping
The duration of the procedure varies depending on the complexity of the case, but an average facelift takes anywhere from 4 to 5 hours.
Will I be in much pain after surgery?
Generally, most patients are not in pain after surgery; rather they have varying degrees of discomfort. We give you narcotic pain medication in the event that you do experience pain, but most patients do just fine with plain Tylenol. We are always a phone call or email away.
Will I look different? Will I look pulled? I don’t want to look weird/different after my facelift!
Prior techniques for facelifts resulted in a pulled or “done” look. Dr. Frankel does an extended deep plane approach where the facial tissues are repositioned in a superior and posterior fashion resulting in a natural, elegant, and rejuvenated result.
How long does it take to heal after a rhinoplasty?
If you have a big event coming up, the further from the event you do the surgery the better. This allows more time for your body to heal. Rhinoplasty healing takes nearly 18 months. At the end of the surgery, Dr. Frankel will place a nasal cast which will be removed on postoperative day 6 at the time of suture removal. The healing process after that is patient dependent.
