About Anand G. Shah, MD
Dr. Shah attended Northwestern University for college and obtained his degree in Biomedical Engineering. It was during his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering that he first developed an interest in the complex angles and force vectors that govern the human face. He remained at Northwestern for medical school and obtained his M.D. He completed an internship in General Surgery, and then a residency in Head and Neck Surgery, at Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan. Subsequently, he was one of 38 individuals in the United States selected for advanced Fellowship training in Facial Plastic Surgery, which he completed at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Shah is Board-Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery and Otolaryngology. He is an educator and devoted in furthering the field of aesthetic facial surgery. After completing his fellowship in 2009, he was appointed a member of the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Currently, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UTHSCSA. He is also an author of several published articles as well as a philanthropist by traveling to India with Operation Smile to perform cleft lip and palate surgery on needy individuals.
