About Amanda K. Silva, MD
Amanda Silva, MD, is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with a particular interest in complex reconstruction. After she finished her Plastic Surgery training she completed an additional year-long fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at New York University. She has experience in many areas of reconstructive surgery including advanced techniques in free flap breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, limb salvage, and head and neck reconstruction including facial reanimation. While she enjoys performing reconstructive surgery from head to toe, she especially has an interest in head and neck and facial reconstruction for cancer and traumatic defects including facial nerve and reanimation surgery. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Silva is passionate about continued research. She is interested in investigating ways to improve the patient experience and outcomes in head and neck reconstruction. She has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Annals of Surgical Oncology.
