About Alison M. Shore, MD
Dr. Alison Shore combines her artistic abilities and her experience with reconstructive and aesthetic surgery to provide her patients with up-to-date techniques in the setting of a safe, caring environment. She focuses on providing a highly personalized approach for each patient, recognizing the importance of individuality and the diversity of beauty. Dr. Shore is especially dedicated to working with breast cancer patients, understanding the importance of breast reconstruction following breast cancer treatments. She performs a variety of reconstructive techniques, including free flap reconstruction (using the patient’s own tissues, such as TRAM or DIEP flaps), implant-based reconstruction, and combination procedures (implant and flap). Dr. Shore completed the Zaccone Family Foundation Fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. During this time, she gained proficiency in multiple breast reconstructive procedures, including DIEP, SIEA, and thigh-based flaps, as well as oncoplastic and implant-based techniques. She also gained experience with reconstructive techniques of the head and neck, trunk, and extremities. In her free time, Dr. Shore enjoys practicing yoga, playing golf, cooking traveling, and reading. She is also certified as an advanced open water SCUBA diver. She and her husband, David, live in Lakeview, with their two rescue cats, Ike and Maeby. She volunteers at PAWS Chicago, helping cats and dogs find forever homes in the Chicago area.
