About Alan M. Atlas, DMD
Dr. Alan Atlas has maintained a full time private practice dedicated to esthetic and comprehensive restorative dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for over 30 years. Dr. Atlas received his D.M.D degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and serves there as Clinical Professor in the Department of Endodontics and the Department of Preventive/Restorative Sciences. He has been teaching at Penn Dental Medicine for more than 20 years and currently is Director of the Endodontic-Restorative Microscopy and Technology Clinic at Penn Dental Medicine teaching student’s precision restorative dentistry utilizing the dental microscope and digital technologies. Dr. Atlas is actively involved in the development and integration of research studies for dental materials, ceramics, endodontics and dental implants. Dr. Atlas has extended his teaching to practicing dentists all over the world. His mission is to inspire and teach his colleagues to do great dentistry for their patients. He is an internationally recognized lecturer highly regarded for his passionate style and unique academic and private practice perspective focused on applying scientific based protocols to general and advanced clinical dentistry. His presentations span worldwide including China, Africa, Australia, Middle East, Japan, Korea and Europe as well as all major dental meetings in the United States. Dr. Atlas holds membership in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and the International Association for Dental Research. He serves on the editorial board of several journals and publishes on various topics in dentistry including innovative research and clinical protocols on esthetic restorations. Dr. Atlas is a past recipient of the Penn Dental Medicine Alumni Award of Merit and is selected annually by his peers as a “Top Dentist” in Philadelphia Pennsylvania as voted in Philadelphia Magazine.
