The Specifics

What is Emsculpt®?

Emsculpt® is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration to build muscle through high-intensity focused electromagnetic waves (HIFEM) in 30 minute treatments with no downtime. Emsculpt® builds muscle by improving muscle tissue, muscle mass, and muscle tone. This body contouring treatment generates supramaximal contractions for building muscle quickly and effectively.

The updated Emsculpt® Neo treatment combines the benefits of HIFEM with radiofrequency (RF) for fat reduction. Emsculpt® treatments provide body contouring, body sculpting, and body shaping to the abdominal muscles, buttocks, chest, arms, and legs.

What cosmetic concerns does Emsculpt® treat?

  1. Focused, high-intensity electromagnetic energy stimulates muscle contractions to improve both strength and tone, addressing concerns such as Abdominal Contour, Buttocks Shape & Size, Arm Shape & Size, Leg Shape & Size.
  2. Excess Body Fat: The RF component of Emsculpt® Neo allows it to permanently reduce stubborn body fat in treatment areas.
  3. Mommy Makeover: Muscle changes following pregnancy can be restored through exercise and Emscuplt® treatments.

Who is the ideal candidate for Emsculpt®?

The ideal candidate for Emsculpt® is seeking to enhance musculature through a noninvasive procedure. Emsculpt® is not recommended for those with certain chronic medical conditions, women who are pregnant, or those seeking more extensive enhancements who would benefit from a more invasive procedure. In the case of Emsculpt® Neo, patients with metal devices in their bodies are not candidates.

What is the average recovery associated with Emsculpt®?

Most candidates experience no downtime following Emsculpt®. Slight redness, swelling, or discomfort resolves within a day post procedure. Normal activities can be resumed immediately following the Emsculpt® treatment.

What are the potential side effects of Emsculpt®?

Possible side effects following Emsculpt® include numbness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, and redness of the treated areas.

What can someone expect from the results of Emsculpt®?

Emsculpt® therapy will require a minimum of four sessions spaced two to three days apart. Results will begin to become noticeable immediately after the treatment, but will continue to evolve for several weeks following the last treatment session.

What is the average cost of Emsculpt®?

An Emsculpt® procedure can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000. The actual cost of Emsculpt® is dependent upon location, board certified provider, and length and involvement of the cosmetic procedure.
