About Upen J. Patel, DDS
Cosmetic, Implant & General Dentist Dr. Upen J. Patel is responsible for creating absolutely beautiful smiles for many local, nationwide and international patients. Dr. Patel is as passionate about teaching dentistry as he is about practicing it. He strives to keep up to date on continuing education and volunteers his expertise at the University of the Pacific. Dr. Patel received his DDS from the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in 2005 as one of the youngest graduates ever. He capped off a successful senior year by being awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Academy of Restorative Dentistry. After graduating he completed a comprehensive residency at PACIFIC University in Advanced Education in General Dentistry where he graduated with highest honors as the class Valedictorian and now also serves as a Faculty member. Dr. Patel is proficient in a wide range of state-of-the-art dental procedures and techniques which are reinforced by his pursuit of continuing education at the highest level. He is highly regarded in his respective field of Restorative Dentistry. For his contributions to dental education, he has been awarded the prestigious Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry and Fellowship of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Through my affiliation with the Academy of General Dentistry, I have been able to meet several like-minded people who are extremely remarkable and do a lot of good. I have been able to contribute to that good and some day when I retire; I hope to do more humanitarian projects. I don’t love one specific charity over the others; I just love to help change people’s lives. Over the years I’ve enjoyed creating beautiful smiles, but I’m most passionate about the relationships I’ve created with my patients, my colleagues and my team. I would like to be remembered as a person who was positive, always looked for the good in others and as someone who enjoyed life to the fullest. I was born and grew up in London-Wimbledon, England and have lived in the Sacramento area for the last 20 years. When away from the office I try to stay active...I am an avid Squash and Tennis player who competes at national tournaments and also enjoys coaching kids and adults from beginners to elite level. On Sunday afternoons you will find me relaxing and watching a movie with my family and friends.
