About Sharla J. Ruiz, DMD
Dr. Ruiz was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 1978 she became a registered nurse and worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse at the University of California, Irvine. She was given the opportunity in 1979 to be part of the first class to become an operating room nurse at Santa Ana Tustin Community Hospital. In 1980 her husband was accepted into medical school at the prestigious Yale University. They moved to Connecticut with their young son. For the next several years she advanced her education while being a mother and a part time intensive care nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Wesleyan University. In 1990 she received her dental degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. After her and her husband finished their training they moved back to California to be closer to their family. Dr. Ruiz has enjoyed owning her own dental practice for the last 30 years. She prides herself in providing excellent dental care for all age groups in a caring environment. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Diego Dental Association. She actively volunteers in Fallbrook community projects such as dental screenings in the elementary school age children and providing dental care for children in need. She is proud to have just celebrated her 36th wedding anniversary! She enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family. In her spare time she enjoys being a grandmother, wakeboarding, sky skiing, water skiing, gardening and traveling.
