About Rick D. Buchanan, DDS
Dr. Buchanan was born and raised in Bay City. He graduated from John Glenn High School. After attending Delta College, Saginaw Valley State University and the University of Michigan, he was accepted into the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he earned his doctor of dental surgery degree. He and his wife, Cecilia (Ceil), have three children and five grandchildren. In addition to dentistry, Dr. Buchanan’s interests include music (he performed as a saxophone player in a dance band for over twenty-two years), archery hunting (he has bow hunted all over the world), and basketball (he has played on a city league or YMCA basketball team each year since 1970, except the years he was in college in Ann Arbor; and coached eighth grade basketball for ten years). He is also an avid pool player and he organized and runs a pool league at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA.
