About Rachael D. Hartman, MD
Dr. Rachael D. Hartman is a board-certified dermatologist in New Jersey and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University in New York. She practices both general and cosmetic dermatology and treats adults and children. Dr. Hartman's educational career is marked with distinction. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in the Biological Basis of Behavior (neuroscience). She earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she graduated at the top of her class and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society. In addition to her undergraduate and medical degrees, Dr. Hartman also holds a master of business administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School. Dr. Hartman completed her internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center in Chicago and her residency training in dermatology at New York University, one of the world's leading dermatology departments, where she served as Chief Resident. During this time, her work was published in a number of prestigious medical journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Hartman is committed to helping her patients maintain and enhance their healthiest possible skin. As such, she offers a comprehensive array of the most up-to-date dermatological services, including medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser procedures. Her particular areas of interest include psoriasis, acne, rosacea, eczema, skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology. To help her patients achieve their most natural-looking results, Dr. Hartman combines injectables such as Botox, Juvederm, Silk, and Kybella with the latest non-invasive procedures including micro-needling, Fraxel, laser hair removal, Laser Genesis, miraDry, and Vanquish ME. Dr. Hartman performs each of these procedures herself, customizing the treatments to meet each patient's specific individual needs. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hartman is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she teaches pediatric dermatology to the residents alongside Maria Garzon and other leaders in the field of pediatric dermatology. Dr. Hartman is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and an active member of several professional organizations including of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Hartman worked on the business side of healthcare for several worldrenowned companies including McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, and Genentech. In fact, it was her work at Goldman Sachs researching the new biologics class of medications for psoriasis that sparked her passion for dermatology. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Hartman lives in Florham Park with her husband and children. She enjoys traveling around the world, being outdoors (with sunscreen, of course!) and baking.
