About Paul M. Mclornan, DDS
Dr. Paul McLornan “wasn’t born in Texas but he got here as soon as he could”! Dr McLornan is originally from Ireland and obtained his dental degree from Queens University, Belfast, Ireland in 1996. Following graduation, he worked there for seven years as a General Dentist. During this time in Ireland he met a very special girl from San Antonio. This meeting and his growing interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry led him to the Prosthodontic residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). This residency is widely regarded as one of the top Prosthodontic training programs in the world. During his 3 year residency at UTHSCSA, Dr. McLornan received specialty training in all aspects of advanced implant, restorative and cosmetic dental care including the placement of dental implants. Following graduation with a specialty certificate in Prosthodontics, Dr. McLornan accepted a full-time position as a Professor at UTHSCSA. In addition to teaching dental students and residents at the Dental School, he maintained a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and the treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) using oral appliances. He was awarded a Master’s of Science Degree from UTHSCSA for his work on snoring and OSA. In 2010, Dr. McLornan moved into private practice. He took over the well-established practice of Dr. Joseph Mahon (another Irish, UTHSCSA trained Prosthodontist) and moved it to a new state of the art office in the Stone Oak area. He continues to serve as a part time Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at UTHSCSA. Dr. McLornan is a board certified Prosthodontist, (a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics) and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He has lectured extensively at local, national, and international meetings and has authored numerous published articles. He has served as President of the Texas Section of the American College of Prosthodontics. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the San Antonio District Dental Society. Dr McLornan lives In San Antonio with his wife Sarah (that San Antonio girl he met back in Ireland).
