About Patsy Charles, Tattoo Specialist
Patsy Charles founded the Dallas Skin Institute in 2002. After seeing many clients to correct their permanent make-up application, she saw a need for quality classes that not only show technique but also teach the science of color mixing. She is an innovator in both the training of students in the cosmetic and skin care industry and in developing trademarked product lines: Ooh-la-lash, Studio Kat and DSI Cosmedics. These lines tailor the needs of people in the industry, refined over years of experience. Patsy Charles, Educator, was born to adorn. Crediting her mother for teaching her how to book appointments, rinse perm rods, sweep hair from the salon floors, and fold towels at a young age, Patsy started reading sample color swatches at the hair salon, Studio Cuts, her mother Katherine owned and operated in Dallas, Texas. From there she mastered the many different layers that go into running a superior business including structure, scale, and silhouette. She received her cosmetology license in 1999, her permanent make-up certification in 2001, advanced make-up artistry in 2002 and became an instructor in 2004. Patsy is dedicated to her students and it shows in that she is known to take calls from students needing advice while she is out and will invite them to see her demos so they can get more motivation. She has also given up her private practice so that she does not compete with the students that she has certified and can truly dedicate her practice to their success. This creativeness behind Dallas Skin Institute stems from her daughter. (her words) Patsy is a single mother to her twelve-year old daughter, Alexandria. She considers her daughter her favorite Starlet, with relentless energy and enthusiasm for life. Patsy’s grabbed mother-hood by the reigns and continues to steer in the right direction. She eagerly dreams of passing the baton down to Alexandria the way her mother, Katherine, passed it to her!
