About Nisha Tamhankar, DMD
Dr. Nisha Tamhankar, known affectionately to her patients as ""Dr. Nisha,"" completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University. She graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Biology and as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. After teaching middle school science in her home state of New Jersey, she attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating dental school in 2013, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society. Following dental school, Dr. Nisha served as Chief Resident at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where she received training in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. During that time, Dr. Nisha also moonlighted in a pediatric dental practice. In 2014, Dr. Nisha moved to Washington, D.C. with her husband. She is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Greater Washington D.C. Implantology Study Club. Additionally, Dr. Nisha is a certified Invilsalign provider. In addition to English, Dr. Nisha speaks Spanish and Marathi, an Indian language. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family ,and singing with the Thomas Circle Singers choir. Dr. Nisha continually strives to provide the highest level of dental care in a caring and gentle manner.
