About Neil L. Matthews, DDS
Dr. Matthews was born and raised in the United Kingdom. After graduating from Guy’s Hospital, school of dentistry in 1980 he spent five years practicing general dentistry in England. In 1987 Dr. Matthews received his masters degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan school of dentistry. For the next seven years he taught Prosthodontics at the University of Detroit-Mercy, school of dentistry.Neil opened his private practice in Rochester in 1994 where he still maintains his office today. The practice specializes in restorative & cosmetic dentistry with an emphasis on implant dentistry. Since 2000 Dr. Matthews has developed a special interest in CT Scan technology and computer-guided implantology.He has completed numerous surgical and prosthetic cases,including the restorations of entire arches with a fixed prosthesis using zygomatic implants. Dr. Matthews is a lecturer for the Simplant Academy and presents regularly to study clubs and other groups in the Detroit area.Neil married his wife Dr. Helen Reed in2006 and has two step-sons. His interests outside the office include mountain climbing with his latest accomplishment of having summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2011.
