About Monica Hwang, DDS
Dr. Hwang earned her BS at University of Maryland College Park on a full scholarship and attended University of Sydney School of Medicine for a year before deciding to pursue dentistry. She earned her DDS from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and completed a clerkship in implant prosthodontics focusing on esthetic dentistry. Afterwards, Dr. Hwang continued her studies at the prestigious Veterans Administration of Northern California with advanced training in oral surgery. A Maryland native, Dr. Hwang grew up in Montgomery county and currently lives with her fiancé and poodle in Hampden. She has a passion for helping underserved communities and goes on domestic and international dental mission trips every year. Her philosophy is to listen to patients in order to ensure high quality care and to treat patients as if they were family. In her spare time Dr. Hwang loves to work with her hands; she paints and plays piano. She also speaks conversational Spanish and Mandarin Chinese and enjoys a good hike with great friends.
