About Michael Tornow, DMD
Dr. Michael Tornow has been a dentist since 2001, having graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. Dr. Tornow excelled as a dental student and graduated with high clinical honors. After dental school, Dr. Tornow completed three years of service in the United States Air Force with the first year being a residency program in Advanced Dental Education (Langley AFB, Virginia). As part of this residency, Dr. Tornow became proficient with wisdom teeth removal, I.V. sedation dentistry, dental implants, and advanced crown and bridge techniques. His last two years in the Air Force were spent at Cannon Air Force Base (Clovis, New Mexico).In 2004, Dr. Tornow and his family (wife Ivy and their four children- Sabrina, Saxon, Sage, and Brock) moved to Farmington, New Mexico and started his first dental practice- Country Club Family Dental Care. This practice took off and was extremely successful. As a result, Dr. Tornow brought on additional dentists and opened several new dental practices in Kirtland, Bloomfield, Rio Rancho, and Gallup, New Mexico with his partner dentists. Additional dental offices are planned for New Mexico and Colorado under Sundance Dental & Orthodontics. In addition to his Sundance dental offices, Dr. Tornow has now opened offices in Utah under the name Pony Express Dental. Dr. Tornow is passionate about dentistry and loves treating patients of all ages. He represents the American Dental Association (ADA) as a volunteer speaker at dental schools throughout the United States. In addition, he is an adjunct instructor at the San Juan College Hygiene Program. He maintains membership in several organizations including the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), the Academy of LDS Dentists, the Dick Barnes/Arrowhead Dental Group, the New Mexico Dental Association, and the Northwest New Mexico Dental Society. In 2012, Dr. Tornow completed the Clinical “hands-on” Mastery Program with Arrowhead Dental Lab under the tutelage of Dr. Jim Downs. Dr. Tornow is very comfortable treating patients with advanced dental problems and giving them the smile they have always dreamed of having. Dr. Tornow is also engaged in the community by refereeing high school soccer games, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, and being an active member of the LDS church. Dr. Tornow welcomes the opportunity to meet and treat new patients.
