About Katayoun Afshar, DDS
A native San Diegan, Dr. Afshar and her family have resided in Coronado since 2005. She attended Patrick Henry High and San Diego State, where she received her Bachelors in Biology, before attending the Prestigious, University of the Pacific School of dentistry. Practicing since 2000, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Society, the San Diego County Dental Society, and San Diego Association of Women Dentists. Through her years of training and experience, Dr. Afshar has developed a theory of Comprehensive Dental Care. It begins with developing ideal oral health for the teeth and supporting tissues, as well as excellence in appearance and function. She Provides quality care with no mercury, BPA-free fillings & sealants, and customizes her patients’ care by evaluating their absolute needs for x-ray and Fluoride. As an avid scholar strongly committed to enhancing her knowledge of the best dental techniques and technology available, Dr. Afshar stays ahead of the curve with year-round participation in continuing education. In her spare time, she participates in her daughter’s activities, loves to cook international cuisine, Snow skiing, Jet skiing and going on long walks.
