About John R. Mcdonald, DDS
I knew I wanted to be a dentist at a very young age, and I have never once regretted my choice. I love helping people achieve optimal oral health almost as much as I enjoy the friendships I have made with my wonderful patients. I am passionate about my craft, and truly love taking continuing education courses! I involve myself in every aspect of dentistry so that I can understand and control treatment for my patients. I was trained to look at the far reaching affects that dentistry can have on one’s quality of life. As new studies appear, the connection between our overall cardiac health and its relationship to our dental health becomes more apparent. The inflammatory processes in our mouth have a far reaching affect on the inflammatory processes that may occur in our circulatory system. My staff and I truly believe that good dental health is the gateway to one’s overall health. After 25 years of dentistry, I still love what I do. My favorite aspect of my profession is helping people who are afraid of dental treatment and turning them into our friends who enjoy coming to our office! I have been blessed to have met some of the nicest people through my work. Many of them have been with us since I began my practice! I consider my team as a part of my family, as well as being there to make our practice the best it can possibly be. My staff is exceptional at what they do and they are a blast to work with! I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, grew up in Houston, and then moved to San Antonio. My wife, Cindy, and I have been married for 19 years. We live in New Braunfels, and have two sons. My personal interests are many because I enjoy the outdoors so much. I did quite a bit of sailing in my younger years. My interests turned to water skiing, barefoot skiing, and wake surfing. In the winter, I love to head to South Texas to hunt and fish. About 10 years ago, I developed a passion for golf. I also enjoy running and cross fit training.
