Questions and Answers
The tummy tuck surgery takes about two hours depending on the extent of excess skin that needs to be removed. Abdominal muscles can be joined back together, taut and tight. Your unwanted excess skin will be removed, the remaining skin will be redraped and tightened, and your navel will be carefully stitched back into place. This procedure should result in a flatter, firmer, softer appearance.* Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group conducts our tummy tuck surgeries with state-of-the-art, fully-equipped, brand new operating rooms located in our Beverly Hills facility. This facility is certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF), an organization that recognizes surgical operating environments that set, develop, and practice the highest standards of care.
The breast augmentation procedure lasts one to two hours and is typically performed with general anesthesia. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places on the breast to minimize scar visibility. These may be located in the crease on the underside of the breast (inframammary), or around the areola, the dark skin around the nipple (periareolar). For our patients who opt for silicone implants, we offer the”No Touch” insertion technique using the Keller Funnel. Using this technique, the implant never comes into contact with your surgeon’s glove or your own skin which dramatically reduces the risk of infection or capsular contracture. It also allows for a much smaller incision. After the incision is made, the breast is then lifted, creating a pocket into which the implant is inserted.
You may have a nose that isn’t proportionate to the rest of your face. Your nose may be too large or too small. Your nasal bridge might have a bump. Noses are intricate creations, which lead to distinctions, some more welcome than others. Through the rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Layke can change the shape of your nose and nostrils.* We can give your nose contour and balance, changing the dynamics of your face drastically, if that is your ambition. Whether the procedure is cosmetic or has functional benefits to the patient, Dr. Layke performs the rhinoplasty procedure with precision and craft.
Ideal candidates for liposuction are adults with firm, elastic skin, good muscle tone, and who are within 30% of their ideal weight. You and our plastic surgeons will discuss the results you are trying to achieve and target specific areas for improvement. Once you have chosen the body areas to undergo liposuction, the procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia, or intravenous sedation. The choice of anesthesia is based on your preferences and your surgeon’s recommendation. Our plastic surgeons make small incisions at the target sites and insert a cannula, or thin hollow tube. The cannula is moved gently back and forth to loosen the targeted fat. Once the fat is prepared, it is suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum. Your plastic surgeons then seal the incisions and may continue molding the treated areas using elastic bandages or a compression garment.
