About John M. Colasanti, DDS

Dr. Colasanti lived and studied all of his life in the Detroit Metro Area. He attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate seeking a degree in microbiology. Prior to completing his undergraduate studies, he was one of a select few who gained early acceptance to the University of Detroit Dental School. After graduating in 1986, he practiced as an associate gaining a wide and deep experience. In 1991 Dr. Colasanti purchased A long standing successful practice on Plymouth road near Merriman in Livonia. In 1998 Dr. Colasanti purchased and renovated his current location in Livonia at 15737 Farmington Road near Five Mile where he practices in a high tech patient friendly atmosphere. Dr. Colasanti continually updates his skills and knowledge with post graduate studies in all facets of dentistry. Currently his studies have been focused on surgical placement of implants and associated bone grafting. He also has been involved in the treatment of sleep apnea with oral devices. He has given multiple presentations at St. Mary's Hospital and other venues in this regard. The doctor has worked with physicians from local hospitals to treat sleep apnea patients with oral appliances. Dr. Colasanti maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Detroit District Dental Society, Implant Section of the Detroit Dental Clinic Club and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. When he's not practicing dentistry, Dr Colasanti enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also routinely devotes time to fitness and has a passion for boating, fishing, skiing and fine woodworking.
