About John Berchelmann, DDS
San Antonio dentist Dr. John Berchelmann was born and raised in San Antonio and is a fourth generation Texan. Dr. Berchelmann attended Schreiner Institute (now Schreiner University) and the University of Texas at Austin. Following his father’s legacy as a dentist, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (where he was awarded an Exemplary Achievement Award for obtaining one of the highest scores nationally on the National Dental Boards) and joined his father’s practice. Dr. Berchelmann prides himself on making all his patients feel comfortable while in his chair. He loves people and welcomes the opportunity to treat the entire family, from children to older adults in a warm and friendly environment. Dr. Berchelmann is passionate about staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and completes over the required continuing education requirements each year in order to provide Texans with the most advanced dental practices and techniques. He is an active member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist, the American Orthodontic Society and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. He has been awarded the prestigious distinction of Fellow by the International Congress of Oral Implantologist. In his free time Dr. Berchelmann spends his time with his wife and family. He enjoys playing the fiddle, biking, swimming and horses.
