About John R. Baronas, DMD
Dr John (Jack) Baronas graduated from Boston University Dental School with honors in Oral Surgery. After completing a general dentistry residency in San Francisco, John served as a military dentist in Korea and Fort Meade. For the last 30 years Dr Baronas has developed the Comprehensive Dental Practice in Catonsville, MD. During this time through extensive continuing education, post graduate training and examination, Dr Baronas earned the title of Master of General Dentistry from the Academy of General Dentistry. He still continues to take graduate courses in dental implants, aesthetic dentistry and technology. Due to his advanced training Dr Baronas has expertise in a broad range of dental services. These include the placement and restoration of dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, conscious sedation, root canal treatment, esthetic dentistry and complex reconstructive dentistry. Dr Baronas is a former Penn State football player. Franco Harris, John Capelletti and Lydel Mitchell were among his teammates. John was a starter for 3 years during a period when Penn State compiled a record of 32 wins and 4 losses. During his senior year he was selected by his teammates as the offensive co-captain. He learned many of life's principles from Coach Joe Paterno and incorporates these lessons in the dental practice. The child abuse at Penn State was a heartache and the former players are active in supporting treatment of victims and child abuse prevention. For over 40 years John has enjoyed his marriage to Deborah, who is a former dental hygienist and full-time advisor. Their son James graduated from Univ of MD Medical School in 2006 and and served as Director Student and Employee health. He currently works as a family physician for GMBC. John and Deborah have two daughters, Julie, who is a University of MD graduate, teaching physical education at the Lamb of God School and Merry, who is a grad student at Catholic University in Social Work. The Baronas family now has nine grandchildren as well.
