About Johanna S. Kalons, DDS
Dr. Kalons grew up in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. In 1996 she received a BA in Biology from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Dr. Kalons attended UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry where she earned her DDS in 2000. During her dental training, she participated in extramural rotations at the University of Colorado Hospital Clinic and the Navajo Indian Reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico. Dr. Kalons is an active member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Charlotte Dental Society. She belongs to the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, providing Oral Appliance Therapy for patients who snore or have sleep apnea. Dr. Kalons is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and is also a current Invisalign Provider. Dr. Kalons has proudly participated in the NC MOM (Missions of Mercy) clinic in Uptown Charlotte for the past decade which treats over 1,000 Charlotteans every year. In 2019, Dr. Kalons was chosen as one of only six dentists in the country to participate in the 3M Council for Innovative Dentistry, a four year commitment to voluntarily evaluating new dental products, equipment and technology. Working along side dental researchers and developers gives her the opportunity to be involved in dental advances at an early level of product development, which ultimately allows her to provide cutting edge treatments to her patients. Dr. Kalons and her husband, Nathan, currently reside near uptown Charlotte with their three children.
