About Joel A. Walters, DDS
I am thrilled to be home and look forward to serving my hometown. I grew up in Zeeland and graduated from Zeeland High School in 2005. I attended Grand Valley State University and graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and went on to complete my dental training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 2013. Upon graduation, I served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Fort Lee, VA from 2013-2016 and at Fort Riley, KS from 2016-2017. Upon leaving Active Duty, Michelle (my wife) and I, and children Braden and Derek moved back home to Zeeland. I practiced in Grandville for about a year and a half before purchasing the office of Dr. John Frieswyk upon his retirement. We are excited to welcome another child, Natalie May, in January 2019! My primary goals for you and your family are your comfort, good health and giving you the best dental care I can provide. As I get to know you as an individual, please share any questions, concerns or special needs that you may have - no matter how big or small! I practice conservatively and won't push treatment you don't want or need. I plan on continuing all services Dr. Frieswyk has offered and expanding to include tooth colored fillings and crowns, emergency care (tooth related), extractions and pediatric dentistry. I'd enjoy seeing the entire family and would welcome your children to become regular patients if they are being seen at a pediatric dentist. I look forward to earning your trust in the months and years ahead and meeting you at your next visit! I am a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and West Michigan District Dental Society.
