About James Rhode, DDS
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, I am your typical American success story. A young man with ambition (from parents without a college education raised at the end of the ""Great Depression"") applies himself to pay for a college and a dental education. I went to the nationally known Central High School of Philadelphia, proceeded with 9 years of college education at Temple University, and graduated Temple University Dental School in 1978, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). I am married to my beautiful wife Alex, and have 2 great children, Maria and Alan. I have also been blessed with 3 grandchildren. I have a wonderful life! I established my own private Cosmetic, Restorative, and Family dental practice in 1980, and have genuinely enjoyed the role of health care practitioner, listener, and healer for all these years. I can list all my accomplishments, awards, and affiliations, the many years of post doctorial studies but what is most important to me is the joy I have doing what I do. What I guess I'm most known for is my dedication to family, patients, and my dental team. My office is contagious with laughter, my special love for all music, and my ability to run on schedule. All in all, I'm great at what I do and I respect my patients as individuals. Finally, you get to meet me. I am not just passionate about my profession, or ""fixing"" teeth, I am passionate about YOU. I am a healer, health care provider, a smile design artist, and most importantly, a LISTENER. When we meet, it is my job to enable us to understand each other. For me, I must hear what you are saying, not just your words. I must realize what you see, what you want, and what you need and put these all together. For you, my wish is that you are comfortable, confidant, and understanding that I will be there for you. It is important that we see eye-to-eye, that you understand your dental health and your personal needs and goals. I will help you make smart decisions about improving the Quality of your life. Being healthy and pain free, your smile and laughter can contribute to the healing or other medical and behavioral problems. This is FACT!
