About James J. McCall, DDS
I don’t know what I would do if I weren’t a dentist. I have been fortunate enough to practice dentistry during very exciting times. I have been exposed to more superior techniques, more up-to-date aesthetic options, and the new digital era which has taken over dentistry. I have a wonderful team that takes care of me and I have such diverse patients. Everyday is different and provides new and exciting challenges. How can I not love what I do? I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate studies where I majored in Microbiology. I attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. I completed a General Practice Residency program at the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Administration Hospital and Scott White Hospital in Temple, TX. My lifetime commitment to dental education has allowed me to receive training from all over the country from some of the most highly regarded postgraduate dental institutes including the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies, Dr. John Kois Center for Dental Excellence, and Dr. Frank Spears at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. I believe it is imperative to stay on top of dental technology and materials because things are changing so rapidly. Most all of our research concentrates on making dentistry more comfortable, more efficient, and more beautiful. I am committed to keeping up with the latest materials and techniques and my patients reap the benefits. My team is my family. They all have the same goals and they all work together towards the same ideals. Each team member spends countless hours trying to make themselves better and they are constantly coming up with new ideas to help with patient comfort, day-to-day efficiency, and ways to make my job easier. My name may be on the door, but they run this practice! I am simply a piece of the puzzle and I feel privileged that they allow me to work here. I have supported the American Cancer Society and the Foundation for Muscular Dystrophy for several years. I have also been involved with the First Tee which gives local dentist the opportunity to help provide needed dental care to children who cannot afford it. I have resided in Jacksonville since 1991 with my wife, Lisa, our children, Paige and Charles. I love to travel and spend time with my wife and kids. I am active in my church and I also love working out and playing golf.
